
Congratulations to Broward County Library upon selecting James Jones as their Assistant Director of Libraries!
James B Jones is a seasoned library administrator with more than twenty years of progressive leadership experience in large urban library systems. Over his eight years with Broward County Library, he has managed the Division’s largest single allocation of funds, a $7.2 million budget dedicated to the acquisition of library materials. As a member of the Administrative Team, he contributes to strategic planning, policy development, and organizational leadership.
Prior to joining Broward County Library, James spent nearly a decade with the Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library, where he held a variety of roles in. public and technical services, He holds master’ degrees in Library and Information Sciences and Instructional Technology. James is recognized for his strategic planning, team development, and innovation in service design – guiding initiatives that expand access, strengthen community engagement, and support equity and inclusion. A resident of South Florida, he is passionate about creating libraries that reflect the diversity, creativity, and resilience of the communities they serve.
