BMA wishes Cecil County Public Library (CCPL) and Rachel Wright continued success as she takes on the leadership role of Executive Director. Ms. Wright joined CCPL in 2009 as a Children’s Library Associate. Since then, she has held numerous supervisory and leadership roles. In 2019, she was promoted to Associate Director, and in July 2024 was named Interim Director. In February 2025 she was selected to become the Library Director.
Ms. Wright is a dedicated library leader who served on the Leadership team for the design and construction of the North East Branch Library and Our Town Early Literacy Center. Ms. Wright holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Towson University and an MLIS degree from Florida State University. Having dedicated much of her career in service to youth and families, Ms. Wright’s participation in community organizations has positively influenced collaborative partnerships through her contributions on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Harford and Cecil Counties. She was honored to be appointed by Governor Hogan to serve on the state’s Early Childhood Advisory Council in 2022.
