Director, Lewisboro Library
Bradbury Miller Associates congratulates the Lewisboro Library on their next Director, Carrie Bickner.
Carrie Bickner is a librarian, educator, and organizational leader whose career spans more than two decades across public libraries, cultural institutions, and civic organizations. Her work is grounded in core library services and brings together strategic planning, staff leadership, fundraising, communications, facilities, and technology.
At The New York Public Library, Carrie held leadership roles spanning public service, digital strategy, communications, and technology. She led multidisciplinary teams, developed services and institutional strategies, and connected collections, programs, and expertise with broader audiences. As a member of cross-functional leadership councils, she participated in planning and budget decisions involving renovations, accessibility, deferred maintenance, and capital priorities across a large public-building system.
As a consultant, Carrie has advised libraries and cultural and civic organizations on strategy, communications, public engagement, and organizational development. Her fundraising experience includes initiatives supported by federal grants, private foundations, corporate and institutional partners, and individual donors. She approaches development as relational work built through trust, shared purpose, and sustained engagement.
Carrie most recently served as Systems Librarian at Lawrence Technological University and has taught at Pratt Institute. She earned a Master of Science in Information and a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, with honors, from the University of Michigan.
