Join us in congratulating Northland Public Library and its new Director, Amanda DeKnight. Amanda is earned a master of library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh. After several years of event planning and managing restaurants and banquet facilities, Amanda applied her education and professional skills in customer service and staff development to be an effective leader in public libraries. She has been the Director of South Park Township Library for the past 10 years. There, she expanded public programming to include seniors, teens, and tweens, and increased overall program attendance by 32%. She specializes in library advocacy and fostering relationships with the community to bring visibility to library resources and bring in new funders. Amanda’s work increased annual donations by 165% since 2018. Amanda is also the 2026 chair of the Allegheny County Library Advisory Council, a member of the South Park Historical Society, and a member of the Jefferson Regional Foundation’s vision council, which promotes community wellness by connecting non-profits to leverage their resources. Best wishes to Amanda and the Northland Public Library team!
