Lynette Roberson, Shreve Memorial Library

BMA wishes Shreve Memorial Library (LA) the very best as they move into a new era of library leadership with Tezeno Lynette Roberson serving as the next Library Director. Tezeno Lynette Roberson served as Director of the Irving Public Library beginning in 2022. Her prior positions include Director of Little Elm Public Library (2016-2022) and Branch Manager then District Manager with Dallas Public Library (2010-2016). She earned a Master of Library Science and Certificate in Advanced Management in Libraries and Information Agencies from the University of North Texas. A lifelong lover of libraries and literacy, she is passionate about library advocacy, developing community partnerships, and mentoring and training the next generation of library professionals. Lynette is a Shreveport native whose parents nurtured her love of reading from an early age with regular visits to the Shreve Memorial Library branches. She believes libraries should be welcoming and inclusive spaces, reflecting the interests, needs, and wants of the diverse communities they serve. Lynette is a 2006 American Library Association Spectrum Scholar, a 2014 American Library Association Emerging Leader, and a 2014 graduate of the Texas Library Association’s Texas Accelerated Library Leadership Institute (TALL Texans) and remains active within the library profession through committee involvement and presenting at state and national library conferences.
