Congratulations to Richland Library

Congratulations to Richland Library (SC) upon selecting Tamara King as the new Executive Director! 

Tamara most recently served at Richland Library’s Chief Equity and Engagement Officer, where she led strategic initiatives in community engagement, inclusion, and public relations. She is the creator of Richland Library’s nationally recognized Let’s Talk Race initiative, which has engaged over 4,000 participants through nearly 250 community conversations and trainings. The program’s open-source facilitation curriculum is now used by organizations across the country. With more than 25 years of experience in public libraries, broadcast journalism, and strategic communications, Tamara is a respected voice in equity-centered engagement and public relations. Tamara holds both a Master of Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina, along with Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).
