Congratulations to Haverford Township Free Library

Congratulations to Haverford Township Free Library upon hiring Maryanne Olson as their new Executive Director!

Maryanne worked with the Queens Public Library since 2015 in a number of roles including Community Library Manager (of the Ridgewood branch since 2022), Assistant Community Library Manager, and Children’s Librarian. During the 2020 pandemic she chaired the Virtual Children’s Program Committee for QPL. She is an active member of YALSA, ALSC, PLA and the Elder Justice Task Force with the Social Responsibilities Round Table for ALA and has served on a number of committees with all four including chairing the Odyssey Award Committee in 2020 and the Teen Summit Committee in 2019 for YALSA and upcoming Chair for the Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers Committee in 2026. Prior to joining QPL, Maryanne worked for seven years in the philanthropic/grantmaking sector first with a small family foundation in San Francisco and for five years with the Open Society Foundations in NY as the Program Officer for Youth. Maryanne is also a freelance director/dramaturg and has worked for theaters across the country as a director, literary manager and arts educator. Maryanne obtained her MLIS degree from San Jose State University and her MFA in Theater from UMass-Amherst.
